In essence what takes place in this procedure is the following: a very thin flap is fabricated on the eyes surface, then a very tightly focused laser is shone into the eye, your surgeon will then control the number of laser pulses and the size of each one and by doing so will be able to control exactly how much of your cornea is removed.

How much cornea is actually removed from the eye will depend on each patient’s case.

Like with any medical procedure there are of course some risks involved, the most common tend to be under correction and overcorrection.

Just to be clear, yes under correction and overcorrection mean what they suggest, that either not enough or too much tissue was removed from the eye.
