Shipping Boxes: The Best Way to Ship Goods
Posted by: Salvador Paez in Business, tags: BusinessThe shipping box has been around for more than half a decade. It makes the transportation of goods convenient and is not too heavy on the pockets.
The first time shipping boxes were used were back in April 26, 1956. On this special day, the first successful shipment was made. It consisted of 58 truck bodies, and was a five day trip, starting from New Jersey and arriving in Houston. Ever since then, shipping became an important enterprise. The boxes used came in various sizes and shapes. They now “travel” to different places all over the world.
There are many kinds of shipping boxes. This is because people transport just about anything. Now, we will discuss some of the most popular types.
One of the most popular kinds of shipping boxes used today is the corrugated shipping box. If you plan on shipping breakable items in bulk, such as vases, plates and glasses, this is the box you’ll need. Corrugated shipping boxes are pre-cut, bought as sheets and folded neatly. They are recyclable. Sometimes, corrugated shipping boxes are used when transporting fresh produce, such as fruits. They don’t let the food spoil.
If you plan to transport larger, bulkier packages, you should find heavy-duty shipping boxes that will let you handle more weight. If the package will include things such as dumbbells or heavy books, these are certainly very useful. Most heavy-duty boxes can support weights up to 275 pounds or more.
If you’re transporting a particular electronic device, such as a computer, you should get a specialty box. Boxes like these would help provide the items with additional protection, so they will not be damaged even when being shipped. Most of the time, these have suspension inserts within them. These inserts are cut-outs wedged inside the box to perfectly fit the item within. They help prevent the items inside from moving too much.
These are just a few of the boxes avaliable. There are also storage file boxes, moving boxes and many more.

I just moved to the Jacksonville FL area from California and I had to leave behind all of my sets of dumbbells from 15lbs all the way up to 100lbs (total weight of 1500 lbs). I’m looking for a way to transport them to FL without spending as much money as it would cost to replace them ($1200 - $1500). Can you tell me a way to do that??
Thanks,
