Baton Rouge Commercial Real Estate Gets Katrina Benefits

In an article in the Wall Street Journal's Real Estate Journal writer Maura Webber Sadovi reports how Baton Rouge continues to benefit in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Baton Rouge is the capital of Louisana and is just 90 miles northwest of New Orleans. Initial estimates were that as many as 235,000 evacuees ended up in Baton Rouge, and the city absorbed 650,000 sq. ft. of office space.

As time goes by it is likely that as many as 50,000 evacuees will stay in Baton Rouge, thereby having a direct impact on the fate of post reconstruction New Orleans.
