Dubai home prices to be flat till 2010
A new report by Colliers has found that home prices in Dubai are likely to remain flat until 2010 after five years of sharp gains. About 140,000 new homes will be completed in Dubai by the end of 2010, adding to the existing stock of about 300,000 units, the report noted. Home prices average $5,420 per square metre, or $504 per square foot, in Dubai, compared with $6,500 a square metre in Abu Dhabi, reported Bloomberg.

Dubai tower to boast world's largest LED screen
Tameer Holding has announced it will develop the world's largest LED screen to be embedded on the facade of a commercial tower in the Majan district of Dubailand. The development, named 'Podium', will be a world first, boasting a 33-storey high LED media façade that will be visible from a distance of 1.5 kilometres. The screen was designed by designed by Dactronics, the LED technology experts who also worked on the Grand Lisboa and surrounding skyline in China, according to a press statement.

Dubai unveils $95bn 'new city' development
A developer owned by the Dubai government is to build a 'new city' in the emirate at a projected cost of $95bn. The mixed-use Jumeira Gardens development will be 'an integrated city within a city', to be built over 12 years, Meraas Development announced at Cityscape. The development will be built out over 12 years, across an area north of Sheikh Zayed Road between Diyafa Street and Safa Park. There will be several major parks and a large canal will run through the heart of the development and will flow, at one end, into the Business Bay Canal and at the other end, out to the sea. The development will also have a number of high rise towers, including 1 Dubai, set to be one of the tallest and largest buildings in the world. [AMEInfo.com]
