Learning Photoshop - The Fast and Easy Way For Photoshop Dummies

by David Peters

Color Model: When you hear the term color model we are referring to the method from which we define or classify the color we are to work with. Examples of such are RGB, LAB, CMYK, etc. Color Space: A color space is simply a variation of your color model. For instance, within your RGB framework some common variations are, sRGB, Adobe RGB, and so on. Some of these spaces are better for display e.g. sRGB and Wide Gamut RGB while other color spaces are more suited to printing e.g. ColorMatch RGB and Adobe RGB. Now, it is important to note that every device in our workflow utilizes it’s own unique color space. Meaning, while your monitor, scanner, and printer will base their color spaces basically on what we can see their actual gamut (range of colors) will differ. This is where we lose our consistency across devices. This is the problem we must attend to.

In your CMS you should be given the option to save your printer target for printing within your chosen graphic app. If asked choose not to apply a profile when opening. In Photoshop choose File>Print with Preview. Change the Output dropdown to Color Management. Under Source Space choose Document. Under Print Space choose Profile: Same as Source. You are now set up in Photoshop to print your profile target. You aren’t done yet! Now go into your printer driver software and set any color options to none, or zero, or whatever shuts off any color changes by the driver. Now print your target.

I would recommend using Relative Colorimetric as your Rendering Intent when doing the Convert to Profile step and when printing with Print with Preview out of Photoshop. Rendering intents control how the profile is applied to either the scanner or printed image. Relative Colorimetric has proven to be the best in my testing. Read the documentation that came with your CMS in order to learn more about the other available rendering intents.

However, Adobe Photoshop today has gone beyond image editing. Today, the software is labeled as an image manipulation tool. This somehow gives people the impression that Adobe Photoshop actually gives them a greater degree of freedom than other image-editing programs available today. In fact, it actually does. If sight is reality, then Adobe Photoshop can help you create any reality that you want. With Adobe Photoshop, you will be able to create images of other worlds. You will be able to capture the beauty of the universe inside a glass jar. Your creativity will be unleashed. That’s how much Adobe Photoshop can change your life. In the world today, one can easily observe the impact that Adobe Photoshop has wrought on culture. Just like Google, Adobe Photoshop is now being used by people as a verb. When a person is said to be photoshopping something, it is always assumed that the person is editing an image of come sort, whether he or she is actually using Adobe Photoshop or not.

Are you amazed by the awesome pictures posted in magazines and various Internet sites? Believe it or not, but even if you are not a professional photographer, you could also come up with similarly fantastic pictures. Introducing the Adobe Photoshop CS. The Photoshop CS is the more advanced and updated versions of the Adobe Photoshop software that has been around for quite some time. During the pre-computer era, you were perhaps engrossed into the hobby of cutting out pictures for better album presentations. But now, everything can be done using the computer. Even the cameras with negative films on it are slowly becoming obsolete, in favor of the modern camera types, where images are stored not on films but virtually through computer memories. In that case, how could you make good albums or edit pictures?

Customize menus and workspaces. Photoshop CS2 lets you highlight commonly used menu items, and set up custom menus and workspaces. Now all the power of Photoshop is (literally) at your command, and can be tailored to your requirements. See what each font looks like before you use it. Finally! Photoshop gets a WYSIWYG font drop-down menu. Now you don’t have to keep text highlighted while you cycle through all the fonts until you get to the right one! Manipulate images with Image Warp. Image Warp allows you to bend, peel, and stretch images the same way as type. Now you can put an image on a mug or soda can with ease. See what video graphics will look like, while you’re doing them. If you’re a video professional like me, you’ll know how frustrating it can be: You make a graphic that looks fantastic on a flat computer monitor, but when you import the .psd file into your Avid timeline, and look at it on the TV screen, it’s not quite what you had in mind. You then have to go back into Photoshop and make your artwork look “wrong”, so it will look right on a video monitor. With Photoshop CS2 you can preview your images on a video monitor directly from the software, and see exactly how they’re going to look in your video, even if your editing software is on a different computer.

Key Benefits of an Air Ionizer

by Ray Lam

Air purifier ionizer is a big draw these days with allergic people despite criticism. Apparently it is common knowledge that most of the respiratory and pulmonary allergies are triggered by allergens such as dust, dirt, and pet dander and mold spores. It is also equally well known that indoor air is concentrated with allergens than outdoors because of recirculation due to cooling or heating, moisture which encourages mold, mold spore growth and pets etc.

Air purifier ionizer is a small device that works similar to an air filter but has an electronic setup that ionizes air molecules and particulate air that passes through. It helps anyone that is allergic and is hard of breathing air concentrated with allergens.

It works by generating a special combination of molecules that are filtered into the air. As they enter the air, they will come into contact with pollutants. When it does this, the interaction causes the pollutant to become healthier, cleaner air. Therefore, there are no filters that will need to be trap these elements into them.

Ionic air purifiers provide relief from asthma by circulating clean air. The air purifier ionizers are tested, and reviewed for dependable performance and ensured that all allergens are removed from the room it is placed. In addition, apart from providing electric precipitation to provide relief in allergy they make use of HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter which is a good odor remover.

Sometimes the air purifier ionizer also comes with an inbuilt ozonizing unit and the combination of ozone with ionization renders a fresher smell. While buying an air purifier ionizer ask for its performance test report. Each air purifier ionizer is tested for particulate air count. After all, you can’t put to risk the health of your loved ones.

What is Blogging and Why Should I Do It?

by Randall White

A blog is a bit like an online journal, although it can be written by various people, or by just one individual. It’s written on a website in chronological order, although usually appearing in reverse order. Blog or ‘blogging’ are also used as verbs to imply an action - in other words, the action of making a comment on a blog somewhere.

The word ‘blog’ comes from Jorn Barger’s word ‘weblog’ and reportedly sprung into being when Peter Merholz divided it into the two words ‘we blog’ on his website for a laugh.

When lots of folks interact using a blog, they are typically discussing a particular subject of interest for them. Consequently, if someone wants to know what’s the best pink gadget to buy for his boat, others will write in with their comment on how that particular gadget worked - or didn’t work. Blogs are ideal for discovering what other folk’s experiences have been with anything you can conceive.

If some person is knowledgeable on some topic with plenty of experience that other people can benefit from, then he may start up a blog about it and offer advice. They may also offer links to other websites that promote items applicable to the area of expertise. Also he may offer links to other blogs or other articles about the same topic.

Blogs utilize both images and text, but some blogs emphasize art (artblog), videos (vlog), images (photoblog) and audio, that is, podcasting or MP3. Blogs can be long or short, but those that are very short are referred to as micro-blogging. Blogs are typically updated frequently and the technology utilized today permits people who understand very little about it to become competent bloggers with just a tiny learning curve.

In the early days of blogging, bloggers called themselves diarists, journalers, or even escribitionists. A comment or article written on a blog is called a post, a blog post or an entry. Old blogs on a topic are occassionally referred to as ‘archives’ and may be kept on a another page or pages that can be accessed via a hyperlink. There are at times a variety of hyperlinks - like the index of a book and they are found on the left or right of the blogging page.

The great thing about blogging is that individuals who have the same interests can all come together and talk about, getting to know each other (so to speak) at the same time.
