Continuing to learn is one way to continue the growth of you business. I personally have found that working with coaches and mentors has helped me grow my business but will it work for you?
Most likely a coaching program or mentorship will help you but from personal experience I can tell you that you need to get in to the right type of program to significantly increase your income. I have been involved in a lot of coaching programs and some worked better then others for me but overall I have brought in a lot more then I spent.
With that said, a coaching program can increase your income or even just get you started but the benefits that you get will depend a lot on you.
* What you expect from the program and how far down the road you are.
* How well you get along with your coach
* How much work you are willing to put in.
* And believe it or not how much you BELIEVE in the program will make a big difference.
Your Expectations - You need to know what your goals are for the coaching program you are entering and if you already have enough background to start the specific coaching program you are looking at. It would most likely be a waste of money if you went into an advanced strategies coaching program and you still didn’t have a product or website to use these strategies on. Make sure your coaching program is appropriate for your level of experience
If you are just starting out you will need a coaching program that will teach you all the basic strategies that you will need to get started. These will be things like outsourcing, getting a website up and running, product creation, lead generation, traffic and the list goes on.
If you are just starting out I would recommend for coaching that you find a coaching program with a low price point that lasts 3 to 6 months. This will be long enough for you to learn a ton of information, but more importantly, to put it into action while you are still in the coaching program. By taking this action if you have any problems you should be able to ask your coach and by all means if you have a problem ask your coach, that is what they are there for.
Relating to Your Coach - You need to do a little research on the person or people that are offering the coaching program you are looking at. Are they “Internet Marketing Gurus” or are they technicians? Which do you need? Get on their newsletter, read their blog, look at their sites and see what you can find out about them before you give them your money. If you can’t find a coach that you respect, admire and/or has the same ethical standards as you, don’t spend your money.
Does your coach need to be a “Guru” or an expert at everything? No, to be honest there is no one that knows everything. You need a coach that is capable of moving you from the level you are at to the next level. This means that your coach only has to be a little farther along then you are.
How Much You Work At It - That’s right I said that dirty four letter word, “Work” there is no magic button that will take you from nothing to rich, you have to put in the time and effort to succeed at anything.
In your coaching program you will be given assignments or at least you should be given assignments and if you don’t do the assignments you will never learn. If you are given an assignment do just do it, over do it! If you are asked to create a squeeze page create 3 squeeze pages and decide which one fulfills the requirements of the assignment the best. Just like with most things in life the more you put into it the more you get back.
Believe - You must believe that your coaching program is going to benefit you before you start it. If you don’t believe then you probably won’t get as much out of it as you were expecting.
For example if your expectations are to make an extra $1,000 per month because of this coaching program you have to have a mindset where you BELIEVE you will be making that at the end of the program. If you don’t believe you won’t put as much effort into it and the more effort you put in the better your results will be.
Belief in your coaches’ sales copy or sales pitch is also important. If the sales page for the coaching program says you will be making $100 per day at the end of the program and you don’t truly believe it then why would you sign up for it. I know it is hard to put the emotion of a sales pitch aside and think logically, but if you want the most bang for your buck you need to truly believe the pitch.
